After a long time away

I am back in the world, trying to find my place in it again.  I really do feel like I’ve been a bit out of this world these past months–dealing with deaths (yes, plural) in the family and health issues sent me into a depression that I had a hard time climbing out of.  But I’m back now, ready to talk about myths and mystical, magical things again!

For now, I’m going to give you a link to a fabulous blog post by Lucy Coats.  It’s called “The Ascent of Story,” and I’m wildly in love with her idea about why there are so many nearly identical myths in so many widespread cultures.  Read it–it’s a brilliant idea!  And then she talks about another favorite subject of mine–teaching myths in school.  I really like this lady!

    Kim,
So sorry to hear of all your trials and health issues. I’m hoping that today finds you in a better and healthier place. I’ll be checking out your link, it sounds fascinating and one of my favorite subjects, too. As you well know!

    Take care of yourself!
